Life

"Be happy while you're living, for you're a long time dead." - Scottish Proverb

Everyone says, "How the time flies." The days go by and they are years, and the years finally become our whole life. Each daily portion can be wasted, or it can be a pleasure, before it is gone forever. If a bedtime review of the day concludes that we were too stressed, too busy, didn't accomplish anything, didn't have any fun, then it has been another lost piece of precious life.

Perhaps we are putting off our enjoyment until we have more time, or money, or some other improved condition. The trouble with that is that it might never happen, or it may be too long in coming. It's so important to accept this time, this very minute, as something of tremendous value that will very soon be gone forever. There are many ways to ensure that we make the best of our time here on earth.

In our daily routine let's include time to enjoy others and thus ourselves. Look and wonder at the trees, fields and mountains, smell the flowers, hear the birds, and watch the clouds in the sky.

"This world, after all our science and sciences, is still a miracle; wonderful, magical and more, to whosoever will think of it." - Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881)

Face your problems bravely, confidently, and improve on your situation, no matter what state it be in. Be good to feel good. Be active and improve your mind. Laugh, relax, and sleep well.

Life is mostly froth and bubble; Two things stand like stone: Kindness in another's trouble, Courage in our own. - Adam Gordon (1833-1870)

Keep Moving Forward

Around Here, Whatever, We don't look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors, and doing new things.
Because We're curious...
And curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Turn On the Spotlight

How many of you have been in a pitch black room before, trying to move or walk, but cannot see what lies ahead. As a result, you move in very slow, short steps in order to avoid injury. When in the dark, you are cautious, uncertain, and unaware of the best direction to turn. You may have a sense of where you are going, but it is hit and miss and you can end up grabbing at shadows.

It is no longer necessary for you to be living in the dark. No more moving about with uncertainty. You do not have to be living a hit and miss life, or grabbing at shadows. Your life is much too important to be shuffling in the dark.

TURN ON THE SPOTLIGHT to what your current situation is. Is your life out of balance in some way? Evaluate what it is that you want to change or make different. Think of what would be your ideal scene, then make it happen. Go after it! Move toward what you want, and do it on a daily basis.

TURN ON THE SPOTLIGHT and begin to advance confidently in the direction of your dreams. Focus and zero in on your vision for life. Visualize each day as happy, productive, and fulfilling.

Keep the spotlight shining!

"The difficulties you meet will resolve themselves as you advance. Proceed, and light will dawn, and shine with increasing clearness on your path". (D'Alembert)

TODAY MAY BE THE DAY

Can you imagine your life without courage. How boring. How stale. How meaningless your life would be. Just think, there would be no challenge. No excitement. Nothing to look forward to. I suppose that some people choose to live that way, and never come out of their comfort zone. They never try anything new. They just live each day the same old way.

My life sometimes feels that way. Going through the same routine everyday. Get up; Go to work; come home; eat; workout; study; go to bed, and do it all over again. Maybe you have a similiar routine or pattern each day. You feel like your in a rut. Will life ever change? Will life be different? Is this all that life has to offer.

I believe your life can change for the better, if you dare to step out, and begin to get involved in some things that may take just a little bit more courage than you are used to. Today may be the day to break out of your comfort zone and get involved in a new endeavor. Today may be the day to take a shot at something you have never done before; take a chance at something new.

Today may be the day to make a decision. Today may be the day to finally say "YES". Today may be the day that will take your life on a new and exciting course of action. Today you may be ready to break out of your comfort zone; to get out of the routine, and life of mediocrity.

"You"ll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take".

"Unless you do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow"

"No one can predict what heights you can sour. Even you will not know untill you spread your wings and try"

Today may be the day!

Why Have Written Goals?

The importance of having written goals cannot be stressed enough. Everyone probably knows about the study done with the Harvard graduates. It was found that after 30 years, 3% of the surviving graduates were worth more financially than the other 97% combined! It was same 3% who had written goals. Coincidence?

If you don't have written goals, your life can be compared to a ship without a rudder. You might move all over the place with bursts of activity, but where is your destination? If you ask a Captain of any boat where his or her destination is, they will never say "Oh, some seaport on the Atlantic Coast." The Captain knows exactly where the seaport is, and furthermore knows exactly how far it is, when the ship will arrive, and how much fuel it will take.

You must be the Captain of your own life and set goals.

STOMPING ON ANTS

In the great state of Texas, you can sometimes overhear a business-person refer to a colleague who is "stomping on ants".

This implies that person is displaying lots of activity...head down, jaw clenched, eyes firmly focused on the ground. There's a great deal of activity here, lots of accomplishment; there's "body count", but not much meat. There doesn't seem to be any significant results from all this activity. Now, if he could bag just one elephant.........

As I counsel with individuals who are looking for employment, many say that since they have been layed-off, they have been so busy doing things, that they hardly have time to look for job. What has happened to their time? They have allowed other actions and activities to crowd in and take over their day.

Have you been stomping on ants, or is your day filled with actions that are significant, meaningful, and worthy of your time. Will the actions and activity of today bring a worthwhile return, or are you busy doing a lot of things that bring little value.
Evaluate your daily activities an see if you are just stomping on ants or working on bagging an elephant. Yes the former is easier, less demanding having little pressure or stress, but what are the rewards? Very little. The latter is more difficult, more challenging, more stressful, but what are rewards? Much more than you can imagine. Picture in your own mind the excitement, satisfaction and gratification as you bag that elephant that for so long has been lurking in your mind. DO IT, GO FOR IT BAG THAT ELEPHANT!! Stop stomping on ants!

You Can Choose

You can choose to be annoyed by just about everything. But why would you wish to be annoyed by anything? As easily as you can choose to be annoyed, you can choose to be peaceful, patient and understanding. Instead of putting your energy into being annoyed, you can put it into more valuable and productive pursuits.

Would you like to make yourself into a victim, or would you prefer to be firmly in control of your life? Peaceful patience, tolerance and acceptance will keep you in control.

If there is a situation that needs to be changed, take action to make that change happen. Don't waste your time with being annoyed.

The next time you encounter a situation that would normally annoy you, stop and remember that you have another choice. Instead of letting outside events control your attitude, choose to control it yourself.

Being annoyed is a waste of your life. Be peaceful, calm and powerful instead.

Rules For A Perfect Day

Just for today...

I will try to live and delight in the reality of being alive. My past is forever gone, my future an uncertainty, so I will be happy and thankful for each moment.

I will not allow negative input into my mind... happiness is a choice and I choose to be happy.

I will be thankful to God for my health, my loved ones, my business, and my country. I will also be thankful for any pain in crisis that helps me grow because God has said, be thankful in all things.

I will take care of my body, realizing the importance of the words moderation and balance, knowing that as I bring my flesh under control, how much easier it will be to control my will and my actions.

I will treat everyone I meet today the way I would like to be treated. I will strive to have them like themselves better when they're with me.

I will avoid gossip, jealousy, and negative thinking. Most people don't think about what they think about. Today, I will make a conscious effort to hold loving and beautiful thoughts in my mind.

I will write down my priorities; thinking of my loved ones and my responsibilities. I may not get everything done, but I will do the most productive thing possible at every given moment.

I will strive to humble myself before others, controlling my ego and making other people feel important.

I will spend time in study, learning how to better serve my fellowman. I know my growth in all areas is in direct proportion to the service I give to others.

I will not take rejection personally. I am first and foremost in the people business and, thus, realize they can only reject my proposal and not me. I will keep on keepin' on.

I will spend time in prayer, asking God to let others see the light of His shining love through me.

Don't Quit

"Your circumstances may be uncongenial, but they shall not remain so if you only perceive an ideal and strive to reach it. You cannot travel within and stand still without." -- As A Man Thinketh

For many years I have carried around a poem called Don't Quit. One of the lines says, "stick to the fight when you're hardest hit - It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit."

In our darkest hour it's hard to see the end of our circumstance. All we can think of is our conditions worsening. But it's usually at this time that our greatest growth can occur if we'll see the moment as a growth opportunity. If we'll see it as a time to learn how to control our thoughts toward an ideal that we cherish.

One thing I share with people who seek my advice when they think their life has come apart, is to help them understand the power that even the tiniest of actions can have when taken in a negative situation.

Remember in Science class when we learned that "a body at rest tends to remain at rest or a body in motion tends to remain in motion." This is especially true when overcoming circumstances because "paralysis" usually keeps us in the condition longer than we'd like.

But even more important, is that once we've started in motion, even though it may not seem like much, know this - it's now only a matter of time before you're out, totally out, of the situation that has got you down today.

My long-time favorite poem by an anonymous author is worth remembering today:

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill.
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man.
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

And that's worth thinking about.

5 Dynamite Ways to Live Your Dream NOW!

"I'm a big fan of dreams. Unfortunately, dreams are our first casualty in life--people seem to give them up, quicker than anything, for a 'reality'." - Kevin Costner

Did you ever say to yourself, "Someday, I'm going to..." and yet "someday" never seems to arrive?

Dreams really are the first casualty in life because we give them up based on some past "reality". What do you really want? Do you want to learn how to play a musical instrument, take an acting class, make more money, improve a skill or finish a book you've been putting off?

We all have dreams, even if they seem buried within us and we don't notice the flame any more. Too often we allow our failures and near failures from the past to become our current reality and it seems our dreams are out of reach. They are not.

We know we've allowed the past to dictate our present when we think or say things like, "I don't know if this will work" or "I can't really do this, I've tried before and it didn't work". These are the so-called past "realities" we've allowed to interfere with our present and our future.

If Jim Carrey believed his past was the measuring stick, he would have never been paid $15 million to act in a film. If Sylvester Stallone believed in his past "reality", Rocky would have never been made.

Look at anyone you believe is successful and you will find that their dreams were not based on some past "reality" or they would have been dropped long ago.

Here are 5 great strategies to turn your dreams into a reality!

1. Be Clear - Any dream requires that we are crystal clear in our vision. What do you really want? Clear visions lead to clear choices and the majority of my clients are not clear about what they want. They think they are but soon discover they are not.

"Make more money" or "Being happier" are not clear desires. Be clear on the amount of money you want, the type of business you want, how you will serve your clients, the specific actions that make you happy and so on.

2. See it as an established Fact - My clients find this step to be somewhat challenging. Their logical minds step in and think, "How can I see it as real if it hasn't happened yet?" Dreams are the ultimate use of human imagination at its best.

See your dream as an established fact even though it has not materialized yet. The body does not know the difference between imagination and reality and if you imagine your dream as already accomplished, your body will experience it that way and it will propel you to think, say and do things in accordance with it.

Jim Carrey wrote himself a 10 million dollar check for "acting services rendered" months before he was actually offered that amount. Jack Nicklaus saw every shot before he hit it and Donald Trump sees a casino on a plot of land before it actually exists.

3. Feel the Passion - This is a crucial element in the process. Feelings are stronger than the intellect and when you add "feeling power" to your images you add a tremendous force toward the accomplishment of your dream.

Can you feel how good it feels to accomplish your dream? Imagine yourself earning the money you desire, running a successful business, seeing how your product or service helps customers, traveling, being healthy and happy, building relationships, etc. Generate the warm, powerful feelings that your dream triggers within you and feel it.

4. Bounce Forward - "Bad times have a scientific value. These are occasions a good learner would not miss." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

It is inevitable that the path toward your dream will be filled with ups and downs. You will encounter disappointments and nay-sayers along the way.

However, these are all opportunities to clarify and enhance your dream. As Emerson writes, "These are occasions a good learner would not miss". Use these moments as lessons and indicators that will help you bolster your dream even more.

5. Act Every Day - "My results today aren't as important as the seeds I cultivate for tomorrow" - Anon.

Dreams require daily cultivation. Nurture your dream by paying attention to it and nourishing it every day. This means going through steps 1 - 4 each day and follow-up with action.

How to Fit in Anywhere

“Sometimes I’m not sure how I fit into this whole puzzle called life.” Have you ever thought that to yourself? Have you ever had one of those moments where you look at everything going on and you question how you’re connected to it all?

If so, you are not alone. And if it’s any consolation, the number of people finding themselves in that same situation is growing every day. Do a web search at Google.com for “Stay at home Dads” and you’ll get 214,000 web sites to choose from on the topic. A search on “Home schooling” will get you almost 1.5 million sites. “Alternative careers,” brings up over 2.1 million choices to click on.

There is no doubt that the world is changing. People are exploring new ways to do things, new perspectives to look at life from, and new ways to make a living.

As the changes evolve, individuals are having a harder time figuring out exactly how they fit in. The puzzle of life with clearly defined pieces is no longer so clearly defined. Initially, this can be challenging. After all, it is easier to figure out which piece of the puzzle you are, and therefore how you fit in, if there are identifiable pieces.

But with the morphing of both those clearly defined roles and the stereotypes that developed because of them, comes a new opportunity. It is the opportunity to fit in anywhere.

So how does one seize this tremendous chance? How is it possible to go from confusion to interfusion, and from separated to linked? The answer is to think bigger, stay connected, and create your own puzzle.

Think Bigger

We often limit our thinking by putting classifications on ourselves and those around us. I am a student, she is Canadian, he is wealthy, they are Hispanic, we are elderly. By using these types of classifications, it is simple to create an environment where we don’t fit in. The more we categorize people, the less likely we are to have something in common with them, and therefore, the more we can feel out of place.

However, when we think bigger, and broaden our view of the world, it becomes easier to see how we fit into it all. Thinking to ourselves, “I am a human,” or “We are alive,” greatly expands the spectrum of possible connection points. Suddenly, we fit in anywhere. Every place we go we have a link to all that is around us.

Get Connected

The world has shrunk and expanded all at the same time with the creation of technologies like wireless communication, satellite television, and most recently the Internet. People that would never have interacted with each other are now connecting every single day. Those interactions shrink the distance and differences between all of us.

At the same time, this access to people, information, and cultures expands the world in an instant. We have such easy access to information that it is impossible not to realize there is a massive world of people around us.

In some instances our interactions result in gaining static insights into how other people live, work, and play. The expanded offerings available through cable and satellite television bring that opportunity. We can watch and learn about what life is like around the globe. We see that although people are different in many ways, they are even more alike.

In other cases, the link is less informational and more interactive. We can get on the internet and through e-mail and chat rooms, be instantly linked to people that are literally halfway around the world. We can find friends in countries around the planet who have similar interests, challenges, and beliefs. With the click of a mouse, we can get connected.

Through the technologies at our disposal, we have access to a wealth of information and a world of people. If you use those technologies to be actively involved in getting connected, you will instantly see all the ways in which you fit in.

Create Your Own Puzzle

Thinking bigger helps you associate yourself with a wider spectrum of people. Getting connected helps you interact with those people. Both of these principles will help you fit in anywhere.

Creating your own puzzle takes the concept of fitting in to a whole new level. Instead of summarizing who you are and trying to find ways to integrate with the world around you, try letting the world integrate with you.

Why should you fit into someone else’s puzzle? Why not define the existence you want and therefore create your own puzzle. After all, it’s easy to figure out how you fit into the puzzle, if you create the puzzle. Does that sound difficult? It doesn’t have to be. If you open up your world by thinking bigger, and then use the concept of getting connected, you will have access to a world of people who also are creating their own puzzles.

No matter what type of existence you want to have, there are probably hundreds if not thousands of other people who want something similar. They may be scattered around the world and have backgrounds completely unlike yours, but when you think bigger and get connected, that no longer matters. In all likelihood, some of them have already figured out how to have the type of existence that you seek, and are probably willing to share that information.

Pick and choose the parts of their puzzle that work for you and blend them with your own ideas. Pretty soon, you will have created something that is totally unique, and all yours. Then you won’t have to worry about fitting into someone else’s puzzle because you’ll have your own.

As the world continues to change, traditional roles will become less and less traditional. In that environment, finding where we fit in will get more difficult. Think bigger, get connected, and create your own puzzle and you’ll find that you won’t have trouble fitting in, because you’ll fit in anywhere.

How to Put an End to Depression

Depression can have many, many faces. If you are not aware of your feelings and emotions on a daily basis then it can creep up on you and cause misery in your life when you least expect it.

We get sad when we fail in our exams, when we’re rejected by the person we love, or when someone very close to us passes away. Depression, however, could be more fatal than just plain sadness. It could cause life-long consequences that could ruin your self-esteem, your health, and your well-being.

Here are some excellent tips for conquering depression and to help you get the most enjoyment out of your daily activities.

1. Be Certain of Your Future Goals
If you have no goals then the future will seem uncertain. This will create anxiety and just add to the problem. Having goals gives you something to look forward to in life. They drive us on and create a desire for life. Keep your focus on your goals.

2. Keep a Journal.
Every day, write down your deepest feelings. Say what you want to say. Get it out of your head and onto paper. Don’t hold back. This is a very therapeutic way to pull yourself back up. Keep writing down whatever comes into your mind and very soon you will feel your mood start to improve. Done properly, this method can create dramatic changes in emotion.

3. Get Enough Light and Sunshine.
Lack of exposure to sunlight is responsible for the secretion of the hormone melatonin, which could trigger a dispirited mood and a lethargic condition.

Melatonin is only produced in the dark. It lowers the body temperature and makes you feel sluggish. If you are always cooped up in your room (with the curtains closed), it would be difficult to restrain yourself from staying in bed.

This is the reason why many people are suffering from depression much more often in winter than in the other seasons. It’s because the nights are longer.

If you can’t go outdoors to get some sunshine, you can always lighten up your room with brighter lights. Have lunch outside the office. Take frequent walks instead of driving your car over short distances.

4. Keep Busy. Get Inspired About Something.
It’s a fact that people are happiest when they are producing something. Do some activity that you have always wanted to do. Live a life full of inspired activities.

What is it that you really love to do? What are you passionate about?. Taking a nice walk in the park, playing sports, reading books, or listening to some soothing music.

5. Make Some Time For Yourself.
I mean it. Listen to soothing music. Soak in a nice warm bath. Ask one of your close friends to massage you. Take a break from your stressful workload and spend the day just goofing around. In other words, have fun.

6. Eat Healthy and Exercise Regularly.
Avoid foods with lots of sugar, caffeine, or alcohol. Sugar and caffeine may give you a brief moment of energy; but they would later bring about anxiety , tension, and internal problems. Alcohol is a depressant. Many people drink alcohol to “forget their problems.” It never works. The ONLY way to handle problems is to confront them. Describe your problems in your journal fully. If you really face them the right solution might appear.Exercising regularly is a vital depression buster.

7. Increase Your Social Life.
Your friends are there to give you moral support. Spending time and engaging in worthwhile activities with your friends could give you a very satisfying feeling. Nothing feels better than having group support.

Get intimate. Establish close ties with your family and friends. The love you get from others is very satisfying. In times of depression having stable influences around you is comforting.

Really take control of your own life. Follow these tips. Come up with your own solutions. You really CAN do it!

Focus On What You Have NOT What You DON'T Have

Many people are putting themselves down by constantly telling themselves they don't have this and that, they are not good enough and in a long term it will definitely cause some self-esteem issue.

No one is perfect, we're always blessed with something and we gotta focus on the blessing not the missing! ;-)

There's an old Chinese saying:
You should value/respect yourself 1st otherwise no one will value/respect you.

Believe in your inherent self-worth, be strong, don't think about negative things to put yourself down for in such a cruel real world, there are some people are so ready to put you down already!

Run Through The Rain

A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Target. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence.

It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Target.

We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in, "Mom, let's run through the rain," she said.

"What?" Mom asked.

"Let's run through the rain!" She repeated.

"No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down a bit," Mom replied.

This young child waited about another minute and repeated, "Mom, let's run through the rain."

"We'll get soaked if we do," Mom said.

"No, we won't, Mom. That's not what you said this morning," the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm.

"This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?"

"Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, 'If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything!'"

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn't hear anything but the rain. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few minutes.

Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child's life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.

"Honey, you are absolutely right. Let's run through the rain. If God let's us get wet, well maybe we just needed washing," Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over their heads just in case. They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars.

And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health But no one can ever take away your precious memories... So, don't forget to make time and take opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.
I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Send this to the people you'll never forget and remember to also send it to the person who sent it to you. It's a short message to let them know that you'll never forget them.

Take the time to live!!!

Keep in touch with your friends, you never know when you'll need each other -- and don't forget to run in the rain!

Who You Are

You are strong... when you take your grief

and teach it to smile.

You are brave... when you overcome your fear

and help others to do the same.

You are happy... when you see a flower

and are thankful for the blessing.

You are loving... when your own pain does not

blind you to the pain of others.

You are wise... when you know the limits of

your wisdom.

You are true... when you admit there are times

you fool yourself.

You are alive... when tomorrow's hope means

more to you than yesterday's mistake.

You are growing... when you know what you are

but not what you will become.

You are free... when you are in control of yourself

and do not wish to control others.

You are honorable... when you find your honor is

to honor others.

You are generous... when you can take as sweetly

as you can give.

You are humble... when you do not know

how humble you are.

You are thoughtful... when you see me just as I am

and treat me just as you are.

You are merciful... when you forgive in others

the faults you condemn in yourself.

You are beautiful... when you don't need a mirror

to tell you.

You are rich... when you never need more than

what you have.

You are you... when you are at peace with

who you are not.

Life is Our Greatest Teacher

It is not necessary to empty ourselves completely; only important to remove the barriers between yourself and the world around you.

These are the emotional and physical walls all of us construct to protect us from love, caring, pain, suffering, attachment...

To be receptive is to simply open the door of your mind and heart and feel your energy and soul blend with the world around you.

Open, compassionate and non-judgmental are all part of the same circle. Each one needs the other.

Look at every person and each situation as if it were the first time. Begin your own thought process as if you were a blank slate.

Imagine yourself as that person and think of how you can offer kindness instead of judgment. Your compassion may be the only light for one drowning in the darkness of despair.

The Chinese concept of Wu Wei is often mistakenly translated as "non action". The true meaning is "doing nothing to disturb the spontaneous flow of things" and is the foundation of Taoism.

Become the conduit of the flow of energy and ideas instead of a roadblock. Use your intuition - when something doesn't feel right, find another path.

You will know in your heart when your Chi/vital energy is in line with the Great Universal.

No one said it would be easy. You may never do it all and since life is an endless process, you will never be done. But that's not important.

Being the best person you can be and making the world around you a better place for all is not a job with a beginning or end. It is an perpetual flow that we hopefully get better at as our experience grows.

Only you can know your feelings and they are the sum you as the microcosm of the universe. Know yourself and you will discover a deeper meaning to your existence.

Most of all, remember these are simply the thoughts of one seeking the meaning of his own life.

The Greatest Rewards

All of us have two distinct choices to make about what we will accomplish in our lives.

The first choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To earn less, have less, read less and think less. To make less effort and practice less discipline.

These are the choices leading to an empty life. These are the choices leading to a life of constant apprehension instead of a life of wondrous anticipation.

Our second choice is to do it all, to become all that we can possibly be. To read every book we possibly can, to give and share as much as we possibly can. To strive, produce and accomplish as much as we possibly can.

We have the choice to do or not to do. To be all or to be less.

In the same manner the mighty oak reaches toward the sky, we have the worthy challenge to stretch upward and outward to the full measure of our capabilities. What would happen if we did all we can, every moment we can, the best we can, for as long as we can? What do you think we could be, do and have?

Our ultimate life objective should be to create as much as our talent, ability and desire will permit us to create. To settle for less is to fail in this worthiest of undertakings. What if original sin is the failure to live up to our God given potential?

Results are the best measurement of human progress -- not conversation, not explanation and not justification. Results! If our results are less than our potential suggests, we must strive to become more today than we were yesterday.

The greatest rewards are always reserved for those who bring the greatest value to themselves and the world around them as a result of who and what they have become.

The choice is yours!

Rubber-Ball Theory of Career and Growth

Rubber-Ball Theory of Career and Growth

Growth in our career and even our personal growth is like a "rubber ball". Height of your growth is based on your hard work, like a maximum height that can be reached by a rubber ball is decided by the vigor with which you through the ball in the air. Once it reaches the maximum height, it will start its downward journey, like a bad time is our personal life. It will continue to fall, inch-by-inch, like our bad days, from worse to worst, until and unless it reaches the bottom and touches the ground and then only it will "bounce back".

Take the examples of Lance Armstrong (USA), Amitabh Bhachan (India) and Michael Jackson (USA), there was time in their life when each passing day was worse then death, but they bounced back. At the time of struggle and trail most of the time, we give-up, but we forget that good days or bad days and all days will pass away and we must continue to give our best, each time, every time, all the time.

What do you think about it? I am awaiting your inputs, your feedback.

Have a great day and take care.

Keep Smiling. Keep Growing.

Tea Time

"The Vietnamese Buddhist monk and philosopher, Thich Nhat Hanh, writes about enjoying a good cup of tea... You must be completed awake in the present to enjoy the tea. Only in the awareness of the present can your hands feel the pleasnant warmth of the cup. Only in the present can you savor the aroma, taste the sweetness, and appreciate the delicacy. If you are ruminating about the past or worrying about the future, you will completely miss the experience of enjoying the cup of tea. You will look down at the cup and the tea will be gone.

Life is like that. If you are not fully in the present, you will look around and it will be gone. You will have missed the feel, the aroma, the delicacy and beauty of life. It will seem to be speeding past you. The past is finished. Learn from it and let it go. The future is not even here yet. Plan for it, but do not waste your time worrying about it. Worrying is worthless. When you stop ruminating about what has already happened, when you stop worrying about what might never happen, then you will be in the present moment. Then you will begin to experience joy in life."
